Relief holders delegation calls on RRC

JAMMU, Dec 8: A delegation of Kashmiri unemployed educated relief holders and over aged youth called on Commissioner Relief and Rehabilitation, T K Bhat here, today and apprised him of various problems of displaced Padits especially the over-aged youth.
The delegation also gave a brief to the RRC of their recent meeting held with Secretary Relief and Rehabilitation whom they has also submitted a memorandum regarding enhancement of cash assistance, entrepreneurship programme for unemployed relief holders and Pradhan Mantri JanArogya Yojna, Ayushman Bharat.
RRC, T K Bhat informed the delegation that relief holders will be shortly brought under Ayshman Bharat Scheme as same has been agreed by the Government. The scheme will be implemented within a span of 15 days, he added. He further informed that other issues viz -a -viz enhancement in cash assistance and entrepreneurship programme will be taken up with the Central Government. The Commissioner Relief and Revenue duly acknowledged that enhancement of Rs 5000 per soul instead of present dispensation of Rs 3250 per soul is not genuine as per the market index as on today.
The delegation which also gave a memorandum to RRC demanded that due representation be given to relief holders and over aged youth in future talks for rehabilitation of displaced Pandits because being the major stakeholders their voice must be heard and concerns addressed.
The other members of the delegation included Sunil Fotedar, Ramesh Sopori, Sanjay Zutshi, Bharat Pandita, Bushan Koul, Satish Raina and others.
Meanwhile, Sunil Pandita a social activist from Jagti township has expressed concern over delay in release of relief for the month of November to relief holders. He in an appeal to RRC demanded that the concerned ZOs be issued directives to release the same without further delay as relief holders are facing hardships to meet the daily needs of their families. He also demanded that the back to village programme be conducted in migrant camps also to ascertain their problems as well.
