JAMMU, Mar 21: A delegation of Kashmiri Migrant Relief holders and overaged youth today met the Minister of Relief , Rehabilitation & Disaster Management Javed Mustafa Mir here, today.
The delegation apprised him of burning issues of the overaged youth faced by them from last 28 years for their survival. The delegation apprised the Minister with the fact that a meager sustainable amount of Rs 83 per day per soul is provided to a relief holder as of date which should be enhanced to Rs 300 per day per soul in order to enable us to provide education to our children, run our household and come out of the vicious cycle of perennial debts.
Delegation also informed the Minster about the apathy of the successive state as well Central governments towards the overaged unemployed KP youth who from last 28 years of migration are running from pillar to post to raise their issues of survival. Relief holders are overaged youth since last over two decades have been demanding from every successive State and Central governments to design a comprehensive economic package for their survival but were completely ignored from every corner for last 28 years.
The delegation also requested to concerned Minister to roll out a group health insurance scheme for all the relief holders so that the unseen health emergencies may be taken care of and hapless migrant families are not left to the mercy of God.
The Minister assured the delegation that all the issues pertaining to the relief holders and overaged youth will be addressed at the earliest possible time on priority basis.
The Minister assured the delegation that he will leave no stone unturned in drafting an amicable solution for the long time survival by designing an economically viable alternative.
The delegation was led by S L Koul, Sanjay Chowgami, Rakesh Bhat, Rohit Pandit, Ramesh Koul, Vinod Koul, Anil Ji, Sanjay Bhat, Sunil Pandita and Sanjay Pandita.
