JAMMU, Aug 3: Chairman Social Justice Standing Committee Ajay Kumar Gupta has raised the issue being faced by the general public regarding criteria that only PHH ration card holders can avail pension schemes benefits.
Addressing a press conference, the Chairman questioned the administration that why are these rules being framed without any discussion or consideration of the conditions of destitute families in these tough times.
He said that since 2011 the pension cases were being accepted with income certificate provided by the Tehsildar, now suddenly why it is not valid anymore. He added that the BPL ration card which is same as PHH is being rejected.
“The people are visiting my office with the grievance and I could not help them out because of this verbal order, which has been implemented”, he said and demanded that if any such order has been issued, it should be released in written so that the people should come to know.
He appealed to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to kindly take cognizance of the matter and take some action as there are many deserving and destitute families whose only hope are these pension schemes.
