POONCH, Sept 11:The laborers who worked under MGNREGA scheme for soil conservation in 2016 in the Mohalla Beli in Hari Upper of tehsil Surankote in Poonch district through the labour contractor Mohammed Ashraf from March 1 to March 28 last year have sought the intervention of Rural Development Minister Abdul Haq Khan demanding the release of their hard earned wages.
The labour contractor Ashraf said that for last over one year he is running from pillar to post for the release of wagers of the laborers engaged on the work but to no avail.
He made an appeal to the Minister seeking his immediate intervention in the matter and release of money to the poor laborers and masons who were engaged on the said work by RDD.
He said the non payment of wages to these poor and hapless laborers speaks volumes of the mess prevailing in the department where the poor and deserving people are pushed to wall.
