JAMMU, May 2: Voluntarily retired employees of J&K Road Transport Corporation today demanded release of their pending arrears of DA, COLA and 6th Pay Commission worth over Rs 68 crores.
The retired (VRS) employees of the JKRTC under the leadership of Dev Raj Bali held an emergency meeting today and discussed their pending issues in detail. They strongly criticized the JKRTC management and J&K Transport authorities for their rigid and indifferent attitude.
They alleged that authorities have not paid their COLA and 6th Pay Commission arrears despite the fact that Central Government has paid an amount of Rs 76.95 crore to them including payment of the arrears of the more than 700 employees.
Bali said that most of them are senior citizens and struggling for their hard earned money for the last more than nine years. But the authorities concerned have failed to pay their arrears. The officers in J&K administration are only harassing them and adopting delaying tactics. The arrears worth Rs 67.95 crore of the VRS/retired employees are pending till date, Bali added.
They appealed the Prime Minister Modi to intervene into the matter and provide justice to over 700 VRS given RTC workers of J&K, struggling for the last many years in getting their own hard earned money.
Bali was accompanied by Sat Bhushan Singh, Surinder Singh, Suraj Singh Trali, Deep Raj, Surjit Singh, Baldev Raj , Ram Pal, Shiv Kumar, Pappu Bhan and others.
