Sir,
The Central Govt has been following the routine of sanctioning two DA installments in the months of January and July yearly for after taking into consideration the change in price index. The hike in DA percentage depends on the variation i.e up and down trend in price index. Then the states, the federating units would follow suit, may be simultaneously with the Central Govt or after the lapse of a few months. The Central Govt announced a hike of 10 percent in DA to its Govt employees and pensioners from January 2014 keeping in view the increase in price index. Not only this, the Central Govt again announced a hike of 7 percent to its employees and the pensioners. But the State Govt even after lapse of about nine months has not bothered to give same relief to the employees and pensioners by way of announcing hike of 10 percent and 7 percent in DA for the reasons best known to the concerned authorities. I think that the State authorities relish and enjoy the plight of the employees and pensioners. Why different parameters for State Govt employees when the employees and pensioners are reeling under the grinding axe of dearness but as has really been said “only the wearer knows where the shoe pinches”. Why should authorities bother when they are sitting in cosy chairs and enjoying all the facilities of all types.
The medical aid of Rs 300 is a mere joke in these odd times when the doctors fees range between Rs 300 to 500 per visit. It is earnestly requested that the DA installments may kindly be released. I hope that the authorities will rise to the occasion. After all the Govt employees are part and parcel of the Govt machinery.
Yours etc…
