KATHUA, Aug 16: The irate family members of Julekha Bibi blocked the National Highway at Hatli Morh and held protest demonstration against the police demanding action and arrest accused behind the death of Julekha Bibi who had died under mysterious circumstances on June 9 at her in-laws residence at village SaktaChak.
The relatives of Julekha Bibi and Bari Jagriti Manch activists raised slogans against the authorities and blocked the National Highway for half an hour. Carrying pla -cards and raising slogans they demanded justice to Julekha Bibi.
Later SHO Kathua, Amit Sangra along with police team reached the spot and tried to pacify the protestors. They held her in-laws responsible for the death of Julekha Bibi. They alleged that she was beaten mercilessly and referred to GMC Jammu while she died on her way to Hospital.
The protestors said that despite the passage of two months the authorities have failed to take action or arrest the culprits responsible for her death.
They only lifted the Highway blockade after the assurance by Police and traffic was restored on National Highway.
