JAMMU, May 25: Expressing concern over the unrestricted rising crowd in old city areas of Jammu where Jammu district administration has allowed opening of shops, Jammu East Development Forum (JEDF) has urged upon the District Magistrate Jammu, Police and Traffic Police authorities to not allow illegal parking of vehicles at roadside in Kanak Mandi and nearby market areas and ensure that people follow all safety measure to keep COVID-19 under control.
Forum Convener, Sushant Gupta said, local residents of old city areas of Jammu are concerned over unregulated vehicle parking and violations of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines of COVID-19 by shopkeepers and customers.
He claimed that many times it has been noticed that some shopkeepers have stopped using gloves while giving items including eatables to customers.
“Hand sanitizer should also be made available with the shopkeepers for the use of the customers but these rules are flouted with impunity,” Gupta further said.
