JAMMU, Feb 19: J&K Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) has urged upon the UT Administration to regularize the Daily Rated Workers (DRWs), casual labours and other temporary employees of PHE and other departments, remove anomalies in the pay grades of clerical cadre and implement Minimum Wages Act in the Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a press conference here today, president of the EJAC (R), Babu Hussain Malik, flanked by other senior Trade unionists- Yash Paul Sharma, Naresh Sharma, Kulwant Singh, Sheikh Ajaz and others said that PHE workers are on strike since long but the Government has maintained criminal silence over the matter. He said there is strong resentment among the employees and general masses over the indifferent attitude of the UT Administration and BJP leadership in the State. They all have remained unmoved over this burning issue.
Malik further demanded removal of pay anomalies in the grades of clerical cadre/ amendment in SRO-333, withdrawal of SRO- 202 affecting career of new employees recruited after June 2015, examine all pending cases under SRO 520, clear pending wages of PHE workers, declare 5-days working in all the Govt offices, enhance Medical allowance of the employees and pensioners from Rs 300 to Rs 2000 per month and create separate department of Clerical cadre having common seniority on the pattern of Accounts and Planning Cadre.
The EJAC leadership appealed to the Lt Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu to resolve the pending issues of the employees and workers.
