JAMMU, Feb 10: School Education Officers (SEOs) from all cadre have urged upon the authorities to stop the menace of in-chargism and regularize all the Incharge Education Officers without any delay.
In a meeting held under the chairmanship of noted trade unionist, Abdul Qayoom Wani, the Education Officers discussed their demands. The participants unanimously expressed their resentment against the inchargism culture being encouraged in the School Education Department. All the participants expressed their deep anguish over the menace of Inchargism of all cadre from Headmaster to Joint Director level who have been working as I/C Officers even after regularization Incharge Officers, vide Cabinet decision, in 2011. Thousands of I/C Officers have been still working in the Incharge capacity and hundreds of them have retired without their services regularized.
The other demands which were highlighted in the session included pay anomalies of Masters, Headmasters and ZEOs, non-vacational vacant posts right from Class IV to Jt Director level in the department, setting up of new Education Policy, creation of Human Resource Management Cell and Grievance Cell in the department and framing of rational and transparent transfer policy.
The forum appealed the State Governor to fulfill all pending demands on priority. They have warned the Government of strong agitation, if the demands are not fulfilled at the earliest.
Prominent among those present in the meeting included Om Prakash Katoch, Kuldeep Kumar Badyal, Dileep Dhar, Nanaji Tikoo, Muzaffar Hussain Qureshi, Surjit Singh, Tara Mani, Kuldeep Raj, Zahoor Ahmed Lone and Vijay Kumar.
