Regularise Hyderpura, Indira Colony: Committee

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Apr 15: Mohalla Welfare Committee, Lakad Mandi, Indira Colony, Hyderpura, Bhawani Nagar, Daily Excelsior Lane  (Janipur) has urged upon the Government to regularize these colonies  with out any further delay.
In a meeting of the Committee held here today in presence of political leaders from various parties, social activists and others, it was stressed upon the need to regularize this colony. The members pointed out that many prominent personalities including Judges, ex-Mayor  reside in these Colonies but nobody has seriously raised this issue. Even the sitting BJP MLA has never raised the issue at any platform. They decided to boycott coming elections as every time, the candidates make false promises with them regarding this only single demand.
They said that process of regularization was earlier started by the JDA/ JMC but nothing was done later. The process has now been stalled. It is the 25-year-old long pending demand of  the people of these colonies which has remained unresolved, they added.
Expressing anguish over the attitude of the concerned authorities, the Committee members sought the intervention of  Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, Nawang Rigzin Jora in this regard.
Prominent among them included Lal Chand, Altaf Hussain, Mohd Saleem, Rakesh Kumar, Balbir Singh, Jasbir Singh, Bharat Bhushan, Haider Ali, Arshed Ali, Ashwani Gupta, Karnail Singh, Pawan Gupta and Farooq Khan.
