*Clear Rs 3500 cr bills of pensioners

JAMMU, Mar 16: The Jammu and Kashmir Government Employees Joint Action Committee has demanded regularization of daily wagers, casual and other categories of temporary workers and clearance of all the pending SRO-43/120 cases.

Talking to the media-persons during a joint press conference here today, senior members of the EJAC-R including Babu Hussain Malik, Yashpaul Sharma, Bharat Bhushan, Kulwant Singh, Munish Sharma and others said that daily wage workers are struggling for the last many years but their issues and demands have remained unresolved. They said that the daily wage workers, casual, contractual and other temporary workers be regularized without any more delay. Moreover the fate of Home Guards, Rehber-e-Khel, REJ, Anganwadi, ASHA workers, Helpers etc should also be decided.
The Trade Union leaders further demanded that the GP Fund, Gratuity and Leave salary bills of the pensioners/ recently retired Government employees be released without any much delay. The bills worth Rs 3500 crores of these retired employees are lying in over 120 Government treasuries in the JKUT, they added.
They also demanded enhancement of Medical Allowance and HRA of the employees/pensioners. The Medical Allowance should be at par with the Central Government employees. They also demanded that Minimum Wages Act be implemented at par with the other UTs. The pay anomalies of the clerical cadre employees should also be removed.
The senior leaders also demanded release of two with held annual increments, during their prohibition period of the employees. They strongly demanded restoration of Old Pension Scheme in the Jammu and Kashmir as promised by the ruling Government in J&K.
