JAMMU, Dec 19: The National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) (Field Operations Division), Union Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation in collaboration with Directorate of Economics and Statistics organized four day Regional Training Camp on 70th Round of NSS today in Post Graduate Department of Computer Sciences and Information Technology, Jammu University.
Deputy Director General, NSSO (FOD), Government of India, Jammu, Sher Singh who was the chief guest on the occasion inaugurated the training camp.
The training camp was attended by officers and field staff of Regional Office, NSSO (FOD), Jammu, Sub-Regional Office Udhampur and Directorate of Economics and Statistics.
Director Economics and Statistics, B.R. Lachotra laid emphasis on the generation of authentic and reliable data so that policies and flagship programmes of State Government and Centre Government would be implemented at grass root level and benefit of such flagship programmes could reach to the targeted lot.
Deputy Director General, NSSO (FOD), GoI, Sher Singh highlighted the aims and objectives of 70th Round of Socio-economic survey on Land and Livestock Holdings, Debt and Investment and Situation Survey of Agricultural Households. He said that main objective of the survey is to generate basic quantitative information on the agrarian structure of the country which is relevant to land policy in rural areas of the country.
The training is being imparted by Director, Kishore Kumar and Superintending Officer, NSSO (FOD, Government of India, Jammu, A.K. Razdan.
