SRINAGAR, Sept 4: Academic Staff College of University of Kashmir today started a 21 days Refresher course on “Women’s studies” for college teachers drawn from across country.
Inaugurating the event, Prof Zahoor Ahmad, Principal, Amar Singh College said that women’s issues have taken a center stage world over and it was during industrialization and liberalization that perceptions about women changed for better.
Course coordinator and Director Women’s Studies Centre, KU, Prof Nilofar Khan, talked about the importance of this course and gave a roadmap for the 21 days of training for the scholars and teachers.
Director ASC, KU, Prof Farooq Fayaz said that an attempt has been made to deviate from the conventional methodology. During their three to four week long training courses, full day sessions will be organised with a view to provide the participants an opportunity to experience teaching-learning pedagogy in different settings and get accustomed to the latest advancements in knowledge, Prof Fayaz added.
