KATHUA, Apr 17: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh today asserted that early redressal of people’s grievances and problems tops the priority list of the present Government, which is committed to ensure speedy redressal of grievances at people’s doorsteps.
The Deputy Chief Minister was addressing a series of public meetings at Garneri Kandi and Mela Kandi in Kathua district today.
During these public meetings, people projected various demands and problems of their respective areas seeking an early redressal of the same.
The Deputy Chief Minister listened to the grievances of people and issued on-the-spot instructions to the concerned officers for early redressal of the same. The issues which were brought to the notice of the Deputy Chief Minister pertained to improvement in the drinking water supply, road connectivity, electricity besides provision of playground and other basic facilities.
Responding to demands and grievances of the people, Dr. Singh assured the people of these villages that their genuine issues would be considered and redressed in a time bound manner. He directed the officers to look into all the issues raised by the people of these villages and initiate necessary steps for early redressal of the same.
He said that it is the endeavour of the Government to provide all basic facilities to the people on priority basis, adding that a well conceived programme has been devised to address all issues in a phased manner. He said that provision for better healthcare, education, PHE and road connectivity are the priority sectors for the Government.
He sought people’s cooperation in implementing all Government schemes so that benefits of such schemes reach to the needy. He asked them to maintain close liaison with the administration and projects their demands in most legitimate way.
Dr. Singh exhorted upon the officers that benefits of various development and welfare schemes should reach to the real beneficiaries timely. He said that Government is committed for socio-economic empowerment of the people especially those living in hilly, remote and far-flung areas. He emphasized on regular monitoring of the development works besides use of quality material. He said no stone would be left unturned in redressing genuine grievances of the people.
