JAMMU, July 6: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) urged the Government to redress the problems being faced by the people residing in district Rajouri.
BSP State president Tulsi Dass Langeh along with Mohammad Rafiq Inqalabi, district president Rajouri, Advocate Haq Nawaz, coordinator, Nowshera Assembly segment and Sheraj Mirza, State secretary and coordinator Darhal constituency conducted tour of district Rajouri.
The BSP leaders addressed series of meetings at Devak, Sunderbani, Channi-Prat, Lower Lamberi, Upper Lamberi, Chack Jarala, Bagnoti, Bareni, Anjana, Dharamsal, Solki, Kurlian, Panjah, Kharag, Kalakote, Dhaliyot, Mohra Baroota, Khargala, etc.
The residents of Dharamsal apprised the leaders that after independence, whosoever becomes the MLA from Kalakote constituency did not paid heed towards their area. They said that there is acute shortage of water for drinking and irrigation, whereas a spring of water is available, whose water is going waste. The water of the spring can be utilized by installing lift irrigation system, which will cater the needs of drinking water besides for irrigation purpose, they added.
“Our area can be developed as tourist spot, which will generate employment avenues for the educated unemployment youth of the area”, they said, adding that the road condition from Siot to Rajouri bridge is in dilapidated condition, which needs immediate attention of the authorities.
The inhabitants of Solki apprised BSP leaders that there is shortage of staff in the GHSS Solki, where around 300 students are studying. There is only one Urdu subject teacher, they added.
BSP leaders noticed that in most of the areas, there is shortage of drinking water and irregular power supply despite availability of natural resources (springs). They suggested that natural resources can be utilized by using latest technology in the shape of lift irrigation schemes and constructing small power plants.
