JAMMU, May 21: National Awami United Party (NAUP) has demanded a special recruitment drive and special package within J&K for Gorkhas, Valmikis and West Pakistani refugees.
NAUP National President, Sandeep Singh while addressing a press conference hailed the Government decision for notifying J&K Grant of Domicile Certificate (Procedure) Rules, 2020 which define conditions and process to acquire documents required for applying for jobs and avail other privileges in J&K.
He said that West Pakistani refugees, Valmikis and Gorkhas were deprived of their constitutional rights and the successive Governments always treated them step motherly.
Singh further said that these communities were not equally treated by the successive Governments in case of jobs, admissions to technical professional colleges, other benefits including voting rights in Assembly elections of the erstwhile J&K State.
