Recent encounters prove infiltration of terrorists from Pak: DGP

KISHTWAR, Oct 7: “We are dealing with a hostile neighbour and we will have to foil its attempts. There are reports of infiltration from Pakistan and now recent encounters also prove that some terrorists have sneaked in.
Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh said this while chairing joint officers’ meeting here to review the law and order and security situation in this district.
DGP emphasized upon the officers to maintain pressure on terrorists and exhorted all ranks to remain vigilant regarding concerns of law and order and security of the area.
Singh was accompanied by the IGP Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh.
On his arrival, the DGP was received by DIG DKR B S Tuti, Brigadier 9 Sector RR Vikram Bhan, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana, SSP Kishtwar Harmeet Singh, Commandant 52 Battalion CRPF Sanjay Hajra and officers of Police and CAPF.
DGP was briefed about security scenario and measures taken for maintaining peace and order in the district.

He emphasized upon the officers to maintain pressure on terrorists and exhorted all ranks to remain vigilant regarding concerns of law and order and security of the area.
DGP also met with the delegations of Muslims and Hindu communities of Kishtwar. The members of the delegation promised to work for the communal harmony, peace and amity. DGP listened the issues raised by members of the society and assured that their issues will be addressed.
Singh also visited Police Component Camp Kishtwar where he interacted with personnel and enquired about their wellbeing.
Later, the DGP addressed a joint meeting of Police, CRPF, SSB, RAF and ITBP officers and personnel.
While addressing, the DGP said that it was important to meet officers and personnel particularly in far flung areas to know their needs for timely and adequate response. He impressed upon police and forces to make the Kishtwar militancy free by neutralizing the residual militancy.
He also impressed upon the DC Kishtwar Angrez Singh to look into issues of blacktopping of road inside DPL and water supply. He directed officers to look after the needs of personnel in view of approaching winter. The jawans put forth certain grievances. DGP listened patiently and ordered redressal of some of them concerning police on the spot.
