REASI, July 29: The district administration has decided to attract the pilgrims visiting Budha Amarnath Yatra to holy shrine of Shiv Khori by providing adequate facilities enroute.
This was revealed at meeting of officers of line departments and representatives of Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary.
The meeting, while discussing the arrangements for the pilgrims, observed that in the light of previous year figures, it is expected that about 2000 yatris will visit the holy cave during annual Shri Budha Amarnath Yatra starting from August 2 to August 12.
The DDC said that the administration had taken concrete steps to attract Shri Budha Amarnath yatris through Shiv Khori route. He further added that for the first time the district administration and locals have geared up to attract the Budha Amarnath Yatra through this route.
In order to ensure better facilities to the yatris, concerned departments have been asked to ensure uninterrupted power supply, adequate drinking water, parking and medical aid facilities at the shrine besides, installing sufficient number of temporary toilets and foolproof security arrangements.
The DDC asked the officers to coordinate and make all efforts for ensuring comfort of yatris. He said that the district administration was committed to promote pilgrim tourism in Reasi for which it has great potential. He said that this year the number of yatris visiting Shiv Khori holy cave was expected to touch a whopping 25 lakh mark.
