KATHUA, June 1: The readymade garment dealers staged a protest demonstration near Mahajan Hall here today against the hike in VAT by the State Government and warned to launch the agitation in support with other traders if there was no immediate decision on the roll back of the same.
The protest was led by Sat Pal Mahajan. He said that besides the traders the VAT will overburden the common masses and add to their woes further.
He said 300 percent hike in VAT is unbearable and the Government should not go ahead with imposition of hike as this will have serious consequences.
