RAJOURI, Dec 6: Commissioner Secretary to Government, Public Works Department, Khurshid Ahmed Shah, along with District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh today inaugurated newly constructed link roads and important bridges in the subdivision Sunderbani, Manjakote and Rajouri areas.
Chief Engineer PWD Nasir Ahmed Goni, Chief Engineer PMGSY Deshraj Bhagat, Chief Engineer JKPCC, ND Khawaja, and other concerned officers of PWD and district administration were present on the occasion.
The Commissioner Secretary inaugurated 3 Km link road from Kalideh to Baba Narsingh, 1.5 KM road from Mangal Singh Chowk to Breri, 5.5 KM Kalali to Battian Road, 48 meter span Bridge at Irwin Khetar and 32 meter span Bridge at Manjakote.
The projects have been completed at an estimated cost of Rs 1.27 crore, Rs 0.53 crore, Rs 1.91 crore, Rs 1.37 crore and Rs 0.96 crore respectively. All the completed projects were approved under languishing scheme.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner Secretary PWD also inspected the progress on Dharat Bridge taken up under CRF at village Dhadani of Nowshera subdivision.
The concerned officer informed that 95 meter bridge is at superstructure level. It was informed that the bridge would benefit over a ten thousand population of the surrounding areas.
Directions were issued for the early completion of work on the bridge to benefit the public.
Meanwhile, the Secretary also inspected Batala Mang Bridge. It was informed that about 80% work stands completed on the project but the work has been halted due to land issue with Army.
The Secretary assured to take up the matter with the concerned authority to resolve the issue at the earliest.
