R&B proposes, PHE disposes

JAMMU, Dec 4: While the State R&B Department repaired almost all the city roads before the Darbar Move in Jammu, the leakage of water from PHE pipes at some locations has extensively damaged the roads.
Amphalla- New Plot-Janipur road which was also repaired by the R&B agency just in the third week of October, 2014, has been extensively damaged at Disco Road, just closer to Dream Land School at Lakkad Mandi Chowk, due to massive leakage of fresh PHE water. This process of water leakage is going on for last about ten days but the concerned authorities have failed to plug the leakage and save the road from further damage.
The road surface has worn out and large pot-holes have been created. Water continues to flow on the road for about 4-5 hours mostly during morning hours. Water logging has added woes to the adjoining shopkeepers and passers-by. Neither the PHE and UEED nor the R&B authorities have taken cognizance of the matter so far. A large quantity of drinking water is going wasted every day.
Chief Engineer PHE, Jammu Sushil Aima when contacted said that he will get the matter examined and the water leakage will be removed. AEE concerned Mr Abrol while passing buck to another agency claimed that matter pertains to UEED as it was leakage of sewerage water while Chief Engineer R&B, Jammu Hamid Sheikh said that he will impose penalty on the agency for damaging this road which was repaired hardly a month back.
