JAMMU, May 18: Abdul Majid Wani, Minister for R&B today, inspected gantry girders fabricated for segmental construction of super structure of Ganpat bridge.
These gantry girders, designed by consultants from IIT Bombay, have been fabricated by the Ganpat bridge contractor at his factory in Samba.
The R&B Minister, accompanied by MD JKPCC and CE R&B Jammu, showed satisfaction over the fabricated gantry and directed the MD JKPCC to ensure that these gantry girders are shifted immediately to the construction site of Ganpat bridge so as to facilitate speedy work for laying of segmental superstructure over the bridge. The work on Ganpat bridge, which remained suspended for a pretty long period, could be got resumed only with the efforts of the R&B Minister and the present JKPCC authorities.
