JAMMU, Nov 25: Senior Congress leader and MLC, Ravinder Sharma today expressed concern over the non-disbursement of relief to the flood affected families of Nowshera and Sunderbani and also sought assessment of loss suffered by Gujjar and Bakerwal families, who were out when the survey was conducted.
He was speaking while on door-to-door campaign to the areas. He said that Gujjar and Bakerwal families residing in Nowshera-Sunderbani area complained that they have been deprived of the relief because their loss was not assessed by the survey party, as they were out when the survey was conducted.
Sharma also expressed concern over non-disbursement of relief to the affected families of Nowshera and urged upon the concerned authorities to provide ration to the people of Nowshera-Sunderbani at par with the people of other areas.
The Congress leader further said that there is resentment amongst the farmers of Nowshera, as there is acute shortage of seed and fertilizers. He urged the authorities to provide adequate quantity of seed and fertilizers to the farmers so that their Rabi crop is not affected.
