JAMMU, Apr 19: The elections of All Jammu & Kashmir Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha came to conclusion today with the administering of oath by the newly elected president of the Sabha Piran Ditta and general secretary M L Banahalia by the chairman of the election committee.
Elections of Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha were held on the directions of the High Court under the supervision of Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, in which Piran Ditta secured 2232 votes and remained the winner by defeating Vijay Lochan in a close contest. Likewise M L Banahalia became general secretary of the Sabha by defeating Raj Kumar Raja by securing 2300 votes that too in a close contest held at Shri Guru Ravi Dass ji Temple Krishna Nagar, which is the head office of the Sabha. The victory margin in both the cases was very thin.
The prominent among others, present on the occasion, included Ved Parkash Sharma, president of Dogra Brahmin Pratinidhi Sabha; Bodh Raj Bhagat, president Bhagat Sabha; Dineshwar Singh Jamwal, organizer Dogra Manch; presidents of all the branches of Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha of J&K and BSP leader Rakesh Wazir.
