RattanIndia appoints Peeyush Kumar as Head of Drone business

MUMBAI, Sept 21: RattanIndia Enterprises announced on Tuesday the appointment of Peeyush Kumar as Head of Drone business.
This comes following the company entry into the drones segment with strategic investment in the US-based urban drone logistics platform Matternet in July.
The company is starting a wholly-owned subsidiary for its drones business in the country.
Kumar was previously working as CEO of Pixella, a drones company in India.
The appointment of Kumar, who brings with him wide experience in drones, robotics, artificial intelligence and electronics, will help the company scale up its drones business in the country, RattanIndia Enterprises said in a release.
“We believe that drones have potential to transform the lives of billion plus Indians. Under Kumar’s leadership, RattanIndia will be at the forefront of this transformation,” said Anjali Rattan, Business Chairperson, RattanIndia Enterprises.
Kumar has deep global experience in hi-tech sector having working with multinational companies like Panasonic, Samsung, Sony, TCL, HCL and Phillips over last 25 years, according to release.
“With our investments and deep commitment to the drones sector, I am sure the company is well positioned to be a market leader in drones solutions in the country,” said Kumar.
The government recently announced liberalised Drone Rules, 2021, and also a Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for this emerging industry in the domestic market. (PTI)
