JAMMU, Jan 10: Noted poet, story writer and son of the soil, Rattan Sehgal’ book titled ‘Pagdandiyo Se Galiyaro Tak’ was released today in a function organized by Aawo Khushian Bantain Ek Sahitiak evam Samajik Manch Jammu at K L Sehgal Hall here.
On the occasion, D.K Vaid (Sahitya Academy Dogri New Delhi) was the chief guest. Pardeep Manhas, Joint Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) was special guest and Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Amrinder Singh Aman was guest of honour.
Prof K.L Bhatia who welcomed the special invitees along with guests also presided over the function. He said that release of this book is a momentous event in the history of literature of this region. Elaborating, he said that there are many ‘firsts’, associated with the book.
He said more than the technical and design aspects of the book, poems of Rattan Sehgal have a soul stirring freshness and unique lyrical qualities, which set these apart from the bulk of literature which is available. He said the book is unique in many respects.
The other speakers highlighted the merit and special features of the poetry and were of the unanimous opinion that this monumental work of Rattan Sehgal is a significant contribution to the Hindi literature emanating from this part of the country.
Er. Vijay Awasthi also shared his views towards literature work done by Rattan Sehgal in every field. He added that this time a different theme was penned down by him because this book is total based on real life experiences.
