UDHAMPUR, Dec 21: The inhabitants of Latti in Dudu area of tehsil Ramnagar have alleged that the area may face acute shortage of ration items during the winter season as the authorities have not made any provision of storage of the ration even when the area witnessed first snowfall of the season today afternoon.
The people stated that Latti and its upper ranges in Dudu Basantgarh area which was under the grip of severe chilly weather conditions, witnessed first snowfall of the winter which may lead to closure of roads leading to their area and further worsen the supply of wheat flour, rice and sugar in the times to come.
The people have appealed the Government agencies to make provision of storing ration for winter months when the weather improves, otherwise the area may witness famine like conditions.
