This has reference to the news item ‘Ration pilferage leaves consumers high and dry DE Nov 28.
The people living in far flung areas of the State have been the victims of blackmarketing.
For the past so many years there have been reports that the food that was meant for the poor people living in remote areas does not reach them. It is sold in blackmarket by CAPD authorities thereby leaving the poor to for themselves. The Government should model the mechanism of food distribution on Chattisgarh pattern. The mechanism as adopted by Raman Singh Government has won appreciation round the world. The Government there has ensured that of no food pilferage takes places and those deserving get their due.
It has also been observed that the Ration-depot dealers behave rudely when asked that the commodity weights less or why does not the turn up on the depot daily or on the fixed days.
It is high time that the Government adopts a leak-proof method to ensure proper distribution of Ration.
