Diverse platforms vital for children to excel: Dr Manohar

JAMMU, Nov 30: Minister of State for Cooperative, Finance, Planning and Higher Education, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma has said that due attention need to be given towards the extracurricular activities of the students along with academic education for development of students.
The Minister was addressing a function of Thrilling Dance and Fancy Dress Show organized here today.
The Minister while appreciating the efforts of school managements for organizing such events said that it will give a platform to the students to explore their hidden talent. He said that Government will extend all possible support to the organization working for the purpose and asked to take part in the events being organized by Tourism and Cultural academy.
Dr Manohar said our youth is talented and underlined need for giving them right direction so that they can prove best in the life. He said it is our collective responsibility to build up a civilized society by giving good education and better guidance to our children.
Later the Minister presented award to the students adjudged best in the performance.
Earlier, the Minister also distributed awards at an Annual Day Function of St. Peter High School held at Zorawar Singh Auditorium Jammu University.
