JAMMU, May 5: City Ration Dealers Association of Jammu has demanded release of their pending commission which has not been paid to the ration dealers for the last five years.
In a press conference here today Association president, Surinder Singh said during COVID-19 pandemic the ration dealers worked like Corona warriors and their commission which was not released to them has left them to face many financial problems.
He further said that they moved from officer to officer but when nothing fruitful emerged they ultimately visited the office of Lieutenant Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha who assured them to look into the matter.
Singh also said that now the government has released an amount of Rs. 90.25 crore for them but the concerned officers were not giving the money to the ration dealers.
“We want to say that we will only accept our pending money in full and will not negotiate over receiving the same in instalments as we have already waited for five long years,” he maintained.
