JAMMU, Apr 21: City Ration Dealers Association (Jammu), has demanded release of commission and carriage charges of the ration dealers in Jammu besides issuance of passes from District Magistrate for operation of their depots and free movement to the CAPD offices and food grain stores.
In a press statement issued here today, Prabh Dayal, president of the Association alleged that Government has failed to release commission and carriage charges to the ration dealers in Jammu City besides other districts as well. He alleged that during the last year just two months’ commission amount was released while 10 months commission and carriage charges are still pending. Many times the requests were made to the Director and Assistant Directors concerned but the issue remained unresolved.
He alleged that city ration dealers are not being provided passes by the Director or the concerned Assistant Directors. They are facing harassment from police and are not being allowed for their movement to the CAPD offices and the banks or stores. Many such cases are coming to their notice. Despite repeated request to the DM, Director Deputy Director (R) and also ADs, no body is ready to listen. Under such circumstances, it will not be possible for the Association to render cooperation.
He further alleged that department allegedly surrendered commission/ carriage amount worth Rs 2 crore in Jammu city ending March causing damage to the interests of the dealers. The Association sought the intervention of Commissioner/ Secretary FCS&CA in this regard and inquiry into the matter.
