REASI, Oct 16: Reasi Police has arrested an alleged rapist and his two associates, who were blackmailing the victim by uploading her objectionable pictures on social media.
The accused, namely Mohd Ashfaq, son of Mohd Razaq of Sarola Manjakote had mischievously developed physical relationship with the victim and repeatedly raped her in the garb of fake marriage. To further exploit the woman, accused floated objectionable pictures of the victim on social media.
Acting on a complaint in this regard, a case FIR number 197, under section 376 IPC was registered in Police Station Reasi. Medical examination of the victim was conducted and her statement was also recorded under section 164 CrPC before judicial magistrate.
Working upon clues from human intelligence, the presence of accused was located in Andhra Pradesh. SSP Reasi, Shailender Singh constituted a special team headed by a Sub Inspector rank officer and sent it to Andhra Pradesh where the accused was arrested from Peddapuram, East Godavari area of the State.
Meanwhile, involvement of two more accused, identified as Manzoor and Iqbal has been established in defaming the victim by sharing her objectionable pictures on social media. Police arrested both these accused also.
