Rape & forced marriage accused arrested

REASI, May 18: In a case of forced marriage by blackmailing the girl, Reasi Police has arrested the accused husband on the complaint of victim.
The action was taken on a written complaint by the victim, who alleged that she was raped by the accused for a year and then forced to marry him by blackmailing.
The arrested accused has been identified as Akshit Sharma alias Akshay Magotra alias Nanu of Ward number 3, Nai Basti, Reasi, who was running a shop of Readymade garments. He was blackmailing the victim after taking her objectionable photographs last year, when she had visited his shop.
Two associates of the main accused were also apprehended by the Police team, led by SHO Reasi, Inspector Ashwani Sharma, which arrested all the accused within hours since filing of complaint by the victim, this morning.
As per the complainant, the said shop keeper had offered her a glass of water which she drank and fell unconscious. When the girl regained her consciousness, she found herself in naked condition in the basement of the said shop and the accused told her that he had clicked her nude photos. Since then, the accused used to rape the victim by blackmailing her.
With a criminal intention, the accused with the help of his two associates namely Ashok Kumar and Arvind Kumar, kidnapped the girl last month and took her to Jammu where he forced her to solemnize marriage with him. However, at the same time, objectionable photographs of the girl were also made viral by the accused thus forcing the victim to approach Police.
On this, case FIR number 103/2019, under section 366/376/509/109/RPC 66E IT Act was registered at Police Station Reasi and investigation was started. SSP Reasi Nisha Nathyal constituted a special team led by SHO Reasi, Insp Ashwani Sharma and SI Purshotam Sharma ( I/C PP Jyotipuram), which immediately swung into action and with the help of technical expertise, succeeded to arrest all the accused, who were hiding at different locations.
