JAMMU, Jan 2: A rape accused, who was evading his arrest for the past one month landed in police net today.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Gangyal police station conducted raid and arrested a rape accused, who was at large since December 2, 2015.
The accused has been identified as Bittu Aharwal, son of Ram Lal of village Basari, tehsil Raj Nagar, district Chatterpur, at present Sector 6, Channi Himmat.
He had committed rape on his 4-year-old niece and a case under FIR Number 107/15 under Section 376 RPC was registered at police station Channi Himmat.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Channi Himmat police station Inspector Sajad Haider made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO East Mohammad Rafiq Manhas, SP South Shaazad Salaria and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
