JAMMU, Dec 29: Special Judge Fast Track Court POCSO Cases Jammu BL Jaswal convicted a rape accused and sentenced him to 7 years imprisonment for raping a minor girl.
As per the judgement, a man identified as Durga Krishan Bhat, son of Pradman Krishan Bhat of Lane Number 24, Block 153 Quarter Number 14 Jagti Colony Nagrota raped a minor girl in the year 2018.
Accordingly, a case under FIR Number 203/2018 under Sections 376 AB RPC and 6/8 POCSO Act was registered at Police Station Nagrota.
The accused was arrested by then SHO Nagrota Inspector Deepak Pathania and challan of the case was produced before the Court of Special Judge Fast Track Court POCSO Cases Jammu.
The Special Judge Fast Track Court POCSO Cases Jammu BL Jaswal after hearing Public Prosecutor Suresh Sharma today sentenced the accused to 7 years imprisonment and also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 (failing to pay the fine he shall further undergo the simple imprisonment of one month) for offences under Section 7 & ( of the J&K Protection of Children from Sexual Violence Ordinance 2018.
The convict shall be lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal to suffer the imprisonment.
