Ranji Trophy: J&K ends Day 1 at 264/5 against Maharashtra

SRINAGAR, Oct 11: Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) finished Day 1 of their Ranji Trophy match against Maharashtra at 264/5 at SK Stadium here today. Shubham Khajuria led the charge with an impressive 130 not out, marking a stellar performance.
J&K lost opener Abhinav Puri early for 0 runs, but Khajuria and fellow opener Shubham Singh Pundir stabilized the innings, adding 77 runs for the second wicket. Pundir scored 37 runs before being dismissed. Khajuria then formed a solid partnership of 84 runs with captain Paras Dogra, who contributed 30 runs.
After briefly retiring hurt with 94 runs on the board, Khajuria returned to continue his innings, showcasing remarkable skill and resilience. He ended the day with 18 boundaries and 2 sixes in his century. Other notable contributions came from Abdul Samad (23), Sahil Lotra (18), and Shivansh Sharma (18 not out). For Maharashtra, HA Walung claimed 2 wickets, while RN Gurbani, MG Choudhary, and Arshin Kulkarni each took one wicket.
