JAMMU, Mar 3: Upon her unanimous election as MLC, Mrs Rani Gargi Billowria was accorded a rousing reception, when she was received by Sarpanch and Panchs and other senior Congress leaders of block Vijaypur in Samba district.
On her way to home town, Mrs Billowria, who was accompanied by senior party leaders, was given warm reception at Bari Brahmana.
In her address Mrs Billowria expressed gratitude to AICC president Sonia Gandhi, AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi,Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, PCC president Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz, AICC general secretary, incharge J&K Mohan Prakash, secretary incharge Abdul Manan Ansari, MP Madan Lal Sharma etc for showing faith in her for the coveted post.
She assured the people not to leave any stone unturned to strengthen the party at grass root level and to mitigate the suffering of the people in her endeavour for the overall development of the people.
Those who also addressed the gathering included S Sarabjit Singh, Master Charanjit Singh Slathia, Thakur Balbir Singh, Shiv Kumar Choudhary, Goverdhan Singh Jamwal Sarpanch, Pritam Singh Sarpanch and Rakesh Chalotra, Youth Congress leader.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Soudagar Singh, Choudhary Joginder Singh, Mrs Padmini Langeh, Tarsem Verma, Prabha Slathia and Hans Raj Sharma.
