Randhir Singh for UT status to Ladakh

JAMMU, May 17: Former Minister Thakur Randhir Singh, State president Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), has stressed that the Ladakh region needs Union Territory status for its all round development.
In a statement, the former Minister said that Ladakh region is still much behind in connectivity and nothing has been done in many fields including the mineral in the entire region and also providing employment to the locals. Singh said that he had been suggesting to the successive State and Central Governments to take Railwxay from Kathua, Basholi, Bani, Kishtwar, Bhaderwah, Padder and after crossing Sindh near Suru Valley to Kargil, Leh to Khardungula Pass.
Singh said that more than 10000 students from Ladakh and Kargil, who are studying in the various colleges and universities pursuing various courses in Jammu, need to be provided LPG connections as promised by the Ministers.
