JAMMU, Jan 10: Former Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today kick-started repair and renovation work of a park at Ward No-21 in Gandhi Nagar Assembly Segment.
While speaking on the occasion, Randhawa said that the condition of the park was very miserable which is right in the heart of the city. He said on the requested of the local residents a visit was paid to the park and it was observed that the park indeed requires repair and renovation. An amount of Rs 6.50 lakh was sanctioned out of Constituency Development Fund (CDF) of the MLC for the facelift of this park. He said that it was a long pending demand of the local residents which now stands fulfilled.
Randhawa further said that the parks played a vital role in keeping people and environment healthy and it is the duty of all of us to keep them neat and clean. He said that it is a place for morning walkers, elders where they can spend their time. “It is a place which can provide people an opportunity to sit in peace and witness nature”, Randhawa added.
He said that in the time when the environment is being polluted by human parks needs to be properly maintained which provides clean air besides cleansing the souls and minds of the people.
Randhawa directed the officials of the floriculture department to ensure quality of work while carrying out repair and renovation of this park. He further directed them to ensure the proper maintenance of all the parks in Gandhi Nagar Assembly segment be it in rural areas or in urban areas.
The locals expressed their gratitude to Ch. Vikram Randhawa for his sincere efforts in ensuring repair and renovation of this park which was the long pending demand.
Those present on the occasion include Arun Khosla, Arvind Gupta, Indu Bhushan, M.L Vaid, Pradeep Choudhary, Abhinandan, Atul Khanna, Prithvi Raj, Janak Raj, Bhushan Verma, J.L Gupta and others.
