JAMMU, Feb 21: Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa today dedicated a newly constructed lane and drain to public at Mohalla Shomali of Chatha Panchayat under Satwari block.
Addressing the gathering he said that Mohalla Shomali which is just few kilometers away from the heart of the city is still underdeveloped as no lane and drain has been constructed in the area since independence. Randhawa said that the people of the area approached him for the construction of the lane and drain and during his visit to the locality he had promised them to fulfill their demand.
He said that the lane and drain has been constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 3.5 lakh which he released from his Constituency Development Fund (CDF). “I am happy that I have kept the promise,” Randhawa added. He said that the claims of development by the previous Congress legislator were mere slogans as nothing on ground particularly in the area has been done.
He said a lot more requires to be done in the Mohalla Shomali and assured the public that they need not to go here and there as legislators from BJP (MLA and MLC) are with them and they are committed for development of the area as well as to carry forward the slogan of the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas’.
The locals present on the occasion extended whole hearted support to the Bharatiya Janata Party in the coming future and complimented Randhawa.
Others who were present on the occasion include Bhushan Lal, S.Surjeet Singh, S.Darshan Singh, Sanjeev Gupta, Rinku Gupta, Prithvi Singh, Dr Happy Singh, Ranjeet Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Rinku Chouhan and Raj Kumar.
