Randhawa, Billawaria kick-start blacktopping work

JAMMU, May 31: Former Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa and Chairman Sanitation Committee Jammu Municipal Corporation, Baldev Singh Billawaria, today kick-started blacktopping of a road at Preet Nagar in Gandhi Nagar Assembly segment in the presence of Raj Rani (Corporator).
While speaking on the occasion, Randhawa said that it was a long pending demand of the local residents of Preet Nagar and adjoining areas which has been now fulfilled. He said that the locals were facing many hardships due to the dilapidated condition of the road having many potholes. Randhawa directed the executing agency to ensure quality work for long sustainability of the road.
Randhawa further said that he wants to see Gandhi Nagar a model Assembly segment with world class infrastructure in sectors be it health, education, road connectivity, power sector, sanitation, water supply or any other facility. He said that all rural and urban areas of the Gandhi Nagar would be developed with all required infrastructure. He also sought the cooperation of the public in this regard and urged them to maintain all public properties properly as it has been raised by the taxpayers’ money. He said that the BJP Government led by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is committed to develop Jammu and Kashmir as a model and many mega projects are in pipeline.
While speaking on the occasion Baldev Singh Billawaria said that being Chairman of the Sanitation Committee he personally monitors the sanitation drives in all the Wards and assured that the JMC is committed to keep the city neat and clean. He lauded the role of the safaikaramcharis during pandemic in carrying out sanitation in Jammu city.
