Rana urges Governor’s Admn to take call on demands of striking FMPHWs

JAMMU Sept 15: National Conference Provincial President Devender Singh Rana today urged the Governor’s Administration in Jammu and Kashmir to take immediate call on strikes of various categories of workers and employees, saying solutions have to found to their grievances to end the stalemate.
‘Aggravating and multiplying the problems of various segments of workers and others sections of employees, like the female multipurpose workers is the legacy of the PDP-BJP government which suffered policy paralysis and failed in keeping the commitments’, Rana said while expressing solidarity with the striking multipurpose workers here this afternoon.
He expressed grave concern over female workers sitting in the dharna along with their infants and small children in the scorching heat for none of their faults. He said growing disenchantment among various segments of workers calls for some sort of introspection in the administration, which cannot allow the situation to drift. The best course would be to engage the aggrieved segments of workers and employees in meaningful dialogue so that an amicable solutions is reached, he said adding that this will not only save them from constant harassment in terms of sitting on dharnas and pave way for smooth functioning of the departments concerned.
The Female Multipurpose Health Workers have been pressing for their demand of permanent solution of salary head 2211 and fulfillment of their other demands, which inter-allia include release of pending salaries, delinking the CSS salary from the funding sources (Corpus-delinking), release of pending salary since March 2018, fixation of job functions of FMPHWs at par with other working categories of Health Sector, up gradation of the post of FMPHW on the analogy of Pharmacist, Lab Tech X-Ray Tech, Dental Tech and Ophth Tech and clearance in the DPC cases of FMPHW, LHVs and others pending for five years.
They also demanded creation of post of LHVs in new PHCs, 50 per cent quota to be allotted in favour of trained LHVs at par with MMPHSs promoted as Health Educators and Amendment of SRO 20 dated 20-04-1992 which is pending in the administrative department for the past 27 years.
Rana assured that multipurpose workers to take up their genuine demands at appropriate forum for early consideration and solution, He expressed solidarity with them and said that National Conference has been fighting for their genuine cause.
