Rana inaugurates road projects

POONCH, Feb 10:  To take stock of the developmental activities and to redress public grievances, senior National Conference leader and MLA Mendhar Javed Ahmed Rana conducted 2-day tour of Mankote and adjoining areas.
During the tour, MLA inaugurated Bhera Salwah and Naka Salwah roads and laid foundation of another road at Upper Salwah. Rana also announced Rs 50 lakhs for developmental works in rural development and power sector out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
He also announced Rs 30 lakh for power infrastructure and Rs 20 lakh to panchayats for rural development works.
During his visit to High School Salwah, Rana announced Rs 4 lakh for toilet complex and directed the RDD authorities to take up the work immediately.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Thakur Sher Singh, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Shahid Naheim Choudhary, AEE R&B, Imtiaz Ahmed Mir besides several other officers accompanied the MLA.
Rana also took stock of ongoing works under MGNREGS and PMGSY projects and impressed upon the executing agencies for expediting works and urged the PRI representatives to create durable assets for common good.
Besides, the MLA and SDM also convened awareness cum grievance redressal camps at several villages including Chappar Dhara, Salwah and Mankote wherein the locals expressed their concerns about the functioning of water supply schemes and PMGSY projects. The villagers also apprised the MLA about various other development issues and demanded that the newly created Tehsil of Mankote be made fully functional. Besides, issues of upgradation of High School Salwa, Health Centre at Salwa, functioning of PHE lift scheme at Salwa and establishment of Ration Depot at Salwah were also raised by the locals.
