UDHAMPUR, July 22: Due to landslide, there is no vehicular movement on the Ramnagar-Basantgarh-Dudu road, which is lying closed for the last 14 days.
The landslide has occurred at the same area of Gandhtop in Basantgarh Sub-Division where nine houses were damaged in September last year following landslide.
As no action was initiated by the administration to clear the road, villagers of Majori today protested against worst condition of this under construction PMGSY road lying closed for the last 14 days.
The protest was held under the leadership of Pawan Rassal, Sham Lal, Ranjeet Singh, BP Singh, Bikram Singh, Lal Chand, Parkesh Chander and others.
They raised slogans against the PMGSY Department and appealed the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and District Administration Udhampur for ensuring completion of this road. The entire village is dependent on this road.
According to Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Indu Kanwal Chib, the land was sinking and nothing could have been done before it would have consolidated.
