Ramban, Samba police rescues 310 bovines, arrest 4 smugglers

JAMMU, Apr 1: In a major success against bovine smuggling in Ramban and Samba districts, police today rescued 261 and 49 bovine animals respectively which were being smuggled towards Kashmir valley.
Police said in a major success, Ramban police seized 15 trucks and eight Tata Mobile vehicles and rescued 261 bovine animals. These vehicles while on their way to Kashmir were stopped at different nakas for routine checking. They were found to be loaded with the bovine animals. Furthermore the vehicles carrying the bovine animals without any proper permission and in contravention of 188 CrPc were seized at different nakas including Nashri Model Naka, Chanderkote Naka and Ramban Naka on National Highway in district Ramban.
In this connection FIR No 48/2021 Us 188 CRPC / 11 PCA, FIR No 49/2021 Us 188 CRPC / 11 PCA, FIR No 50/2021 Us 188 CRPC / 11 PCA at Ramban Police Station’, FIR No 26/2021 Us 188 CRPC / 11 PCA, FIR No 27/2021 Us 188 CRPC / 11 PCA FIR No 28/2021 Us 188 CRPC / 11 PCA, FIR No 29/2021 Us 188 CRPC / 11 PCA, FIR No 30/2021 Us 188 CRPC / 11 PCA, FIR No 31/2021 Us 188 CRPC / 11 PCA at Police Station Batote, and FIR No 22/2021 Us 188 CRPC / 11 PCA were registered at Police Station, Chanderkote and investigation set into motion.
Meanwhile, District Police Samba foiled attempts to smuggle bovines by rescuing 49 bovines after arresting four smugglers in three separate incidents in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Purmandal and Ghagwal.
A police party of PS Purmandal while on routine patrolling in its jurisdictional area intercepted two persons at Madal moving with a herd of 23 cattle without permission which were coming from Rahya and heading towards Bajalta on foot.
The accused persons identified as Parvez Ahmed, son of Mohammad Sadiq and Aslam son of Lala both residents of Anantnag, Kashmir at present Rahya Suchani have been arrested on spot. All the bovines were rescued and shifted to safer place. In this connection, a case FIR No. 09/2021 U/S 188 IPC stands registered at PS Purmandal and investigation started.
Similarly in another incident, a police party of PS Purmandal while performing routine patrolling duty in its jurisdictional area intercepted another herd of 23 cattle at village Nandkha, near Sports Stadium, Purmandal which were coming from Rahya and heading towards Bajalta.
The accused persons identified as Parvez Ahmed, son of Ghulam Ahmed and Shakeel, son of Potu both residents of Anantnag Kashmir at present Rahya Suchani have been arrested on spot. All the bovines were rescued and shifted to safer place. In this connection, a case FIR No. 10/2021 U/S 188 IPC stands registered at PS Purmandal and investigation has been started.
