Ramalinga Raju’s plea to court

HYDERBAD, Apr 13: Disgraced Founder-Chairman of Satyam Computers B.Ramalinga Raju along  with his brother B.Rama Raju today approached the Nampally Court here with a plea to set aside their conviction by a Special CBI court.
The special court,which heard the multi-crore Satyam Scam for over six years,had on April 9   found  him and nine others  guilty of all charges against them including criminal conspiracy and  cheating,and sentenced them to seven years rigorous imprisonment each and fine ranging  from Rs.25 lakh to Rs.five crore.
Besides imprisonment,Ramalinga Raju and his brother were fined Rs five crore each.
The multi-crore scam,said to be the country’s biggest accounting fraud,which surfaced in  January,2009,shook the entire corporate world.
All the accused are lodged in the Cherlapalli Central Prison on the city outskirts. (UNI)
