JAMMU, Nov 5: Social activist Jayesh Gupta today started a massive campaign against drug abuse in Jammu by organizing an awareness rally in collaboration with Rainbow Public School, Jammu.
The Rally started from Rainbow Public School Rampura and after passing through Nai Basti and Shastri Nagar, concluded back at the School premises. A large number of students of the School participated in the rally and through banners and various placards displaying “Say No to Drugs” and “Say Yes to Sports” spread awareness among the locals.
Interacting with reporters during the Rally, Jayesh Gupta said that he will keep organizing such rallies frequently so as to bring awareness among the public to reduce or remove this menace completely from Jammu and Kashmir. He further added everybody in the society (be it civil society, political leaders, bureaucrats, police officers, children, parents etc) will have to contribute to make the Union Territory free from drug menace.
Krishan Kishore Khajuria, Chairman of Rainbow Public School, said that the message “Say No to Drugs” and “Say Yes to Sports” should be spread each and every single day by every responsible citizen so that this menace could be eliminated at the earliest from our UT.
He said that one should not consume drugs because drugs not only kill the individual but it destroys the whole family. “One should always opt for sports because doing physical activities not only keeps us physically and mentally fit but also helps in achieving our goal,” the Chairman added.
