Rajouri’s Abdul Samad makes IPL debut

He is the third player from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir who has made impressive presence by playing cricket in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The other two players, sons of the soil, Parvez Rasool and Rashik Salam had played for cash rich league in the previous editions.
All rounder Samad made 12 not out runs by facing seven balls and executing a boundary. Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha and Advisor to Lt. Governor Farooq Khan have wished him success in the tournament and his career ahead. Many well wishers from Jammu and Kashmir poured in their best wishes for his debut in the IPL. We have all along been reiterating that there was no dearth of sports talent in Jammu and Kashmir and what was needed was to groom and train them to excel at national and international levels. Samad played from Sunrisers Hyderabad under the leadership of skipper David Warner against the Delhi Capitals.
