Addressing media persons at Party Headquarters here, Gupta, while terming the killings of thousands of Hindus, in different areas of Rajouri district on November 10 a day before Diwali, as a most barbaric act, said that the even the women and children were not spared. He said when the people were busy in preparations for celebration of the festival, the Invaders pounced on the innocent people in the town.
To save their honour and dignity many women committed suicides, he said. As the number of the soldiers of Maharaja Army was very less, they could not resist effectively the raiders who were in large numbers. It was the courage displayed by the Hindu population of Rajouri and the arrival of Indian Army which saved the district and its people.

Many lost their all belongings, their near and dears and children became orphans. The women folk was the most affected lot. The young women were abducted and raped whereas many other jumped into the wells or consumed poison to save their honour and dignity. The people still feel the pain and agony of this barbarism, he added.
Gupta said that the present situation in the State, particularly in borders areas, needs more vigil as the neighboring country is repeatedly indulging in pushing the trained militants and creating an alarming situation, which is a serious matter and all the patriotic people should get united to defeating its designs.
He also said that the people must be cautious of the elements who are trying to divide the society on communal lines in connivance with the anti-India elements.
